This webinar will cover recent rule changes to Canadian federal and provincial-level sales tax for remote sellers with Canadian customers. Throughout the course, the presenter will highlight the different types of Canadian sales tax administrations including the federal Goods and Services Tax and the Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) system, the provincial sales tax systems in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and lastly, the Quebec sales tax regime.
Webinar participants will discover the fundamentals of registration requirements for remote sellers/non-residents under each of these sales tax systems and highlight different rules requiring sales tax registration, collection, reporting, and remittance under each system. This course will differentiate the requirements for those remote sellers who sell and deliver taxable goods/property, services, and taxable intangible property (including software and streaming media) to Canadian businesses or individual customers. Participants will gain a more complete understanding of the different sales tax systems in play across Canada.
This course is aimed primarily at non-Canadian remote sellers or those who work with remote sellers as tax or law professionals.
