Course Description

Many face ethical dilemmas throughout their career and can find themselves intentionally or unintentionally not doing the right thing. No matter your role within your organization, you should develop the tools and skills necessary to become an effective, ethical leader. In this course, we will explore resources to do just that and look at factors affecting many in their daily ethical decision-making.

Learning Objectives:


  • Determine what leadership is from an ethical perspective and what role you play

  • Define various concepts of behavioral ethics and their impact on ethical decision making

  • Give examples of how behavioral ethics directly attributed to many recent and past ethical scandals through case studies and other interactive discussions

  • List best practices to create and foster an effective ethical culture

Jaclyn Badeau, EQ Certified, MBA, CPA, CGMA, is a People Success Strategist who uncomplicates leading humans so that she can inspire confidence back into your team. By tapping into their authentic human needs and leadership potential, we create space for innovation and growth. Prior to launching her own company, she spent over 6 years in public accounting leading the firm’s audit training, career counseling various staff, and assisting clients with business enhancement projects across 5 industries. Jaclyn also worked at a global public manufacturing and distribution company for over 8 years in 4 different roles including Controllership and Internal Audit leading various talent management strategic initiatives, providing coaching and mentoring to over 25 people, and serving as a business risk advisor to many.  During her time there, she also facilitated leadership training across the US to managers in all departments including production, logistics, warehouse, customer service, marketing, and human resources, among others.

Jaclyn is passionate about sharing her expertise and knowledge within and outside of the CPA profession and has been involved in many associations and not-for-profits in advisory and leadership positions. She is one of five recipients of the 2021 AICPA Young CPA Award recognizing a young CPA who personifies an unwavering commitment as demonstrated through successful practices, involvement in, and contributions for the interest of the accounting profession. Jaclyn has also received a KyCPA 2020 Outstanding Leadership and Service to the Profession Award, 2 awards of excellence from the KyCPA for receiving the highest grade on the FAR and AUD sections of the CPA exam during that exam period, and the 2016 Distinguished Alumni honor from EKU. She also has designed professional development courses and served as an Adjunct Professor and Online Facilitator for EKU.

Jaclyn’s well-rounded background and experience are truly unique which helps her understand what employees need and what works.
